iPhones don’t come cheap in India!! If
you are planning to buy a brand new iPhone depending on which model you are
going to buy then models above the iPhone 6 may prove a bit costly for you. You
may consider to buy second hand iPhone mobile as they come
cheap and might save some cash for you as well. Discussed below are the points
that you should keep in mind while buying refurbished iPhone in India.
Points to ponder:
1. Battery Health
With iOS 11.3 Apple introduced a new feature i.e.,
battery health indicators in iPhone 6 and in models above that. On the new iPhone
it is depicted at 100%. Over the time, the battery capacity decreases
corresponding to decrease in the battery health. While the battery can be operating at this
stage but will have a very low capacity. So it’s better not to purchase or get
the battery replaced before buying the refurbished iPhone.
2.
Receipt
Make sure that you have the receipt of the device
purchased whether you buy it from individual seller or the third party app.
Having a receipt allows you to resell the device and also provide you the facility
to extend the warranty of the device. Apple also generates e-Receipts which
also comes handy.
3.
Make
sure it isn’t stolen
Making sure that your phone is not a stolen one. This
would require your IMEI or MEID number. Go to general then ABOUT and in about find your IMEI
or MEID. Then check your IMEI on
the CTIA Stolen Phone Checker website. The
website will respond with ‘GREEN’ for ‘NOT LOST OR REPORTED’ or RED for
REPOTED LOST OR STOLEN.
4.
Hardware
Damages
Look for hardware damages. While the minor scratches on
the body of the phone or the glass can be ignored. However major scratches on
the touch id or the 3D sensor and on the camera lens can prove to be extremely
fatal. Also check for the water damage sensor if the phone has ever gotten wet.
5.
Check
for the iCloud account and iPhone setup
It is better to make sure that your iPhone does not have
existing iCloud account as it’s a hassle to remove the iCloud account without a
password. And if the seller flat-out refuses to remove it, it would indicate
that it's stolen.
Hope that you have got your queries cleared after reading
this blog and would keep the above points in your mind whenever you are buying
a refurbished or used
apple iPhone in India.
